On December 25, 2024, the Human Resources and Organization Development Division, in collaboration with the Walailak Club, organized the annual staff sports day, or WU Sport Day 2024, under the trendy theme “Christmas Jeans.” Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, graced the occasion as the presiding officer, while the President of the Walailak Club delivered the opening remarks.

The return of the sports day after the COVID-19 pandemic marks a significant step in promoting the health and well-being of all staff members. Coming together for this event once again has strengthened relationships and fostered a more enjoyable work environment. In addition to promoting the physical and mental health of staff, this event also aims to build a strong organizational culture by encouraging teamwork, participation, and creativity—essential factors in driving the organization forward.

For this year’s sports competition, staff members were divided into four teams: blue, yellow, green, and pink. Each team showcased their unique colors and creativity through various sports competitions such as chairball, ha-he (tug-of-war, relay race, and eating competition), and parades with cheering squads, creating a fun and exciting atmosphere.

WU Sport Day 2024 is another important event organized by Walailak University to promote unity among staff members and foster a positive work environment. It also demonstrates the importance of taking care of one’s health and participating in various organizational activities.
