On February 9, 2026, Walailak University, through its Human Resources and Organization Division, organized a hands-on training workshop titled “Drafting Regulations, Rules, and Announcements of Walailak University” at Phattharathammabhorn Conference Room, 9th Floor, Building B, Walailak University Medical Center, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge, understanding, and practical skills in drafting university regulations, rules, and official announcements in accordance with legal principles and established procedures.

The event received an overwhelming response, with 104 participants in attendance—exceeding the anticipated number—reflecting strong interest among university personnel in strengthening institutional legal and regulatory competencies.

The morning session began with a lecture on the “Conceptual Framework for Legal Drafting,” covering the hierarchy of laws, definitions of rules, regulations, and announcements, fundamental principles of legal drafting, legal structure, and appropriate legal language usage. The session was delivered by Mr. Somporn Silsuwan, Assistant to the President for Rules and Regulations Development, Personnel Affairs and Human Resource Development.

Subsequent sessions addressed the authority to issue university regulations and announcements, presented by Mr. Nikorn Duangsuwan, Acting Head of Legal Affairs (Contracts), followed by a session on the review and screening process undertaken by the University’s regulatory review committee, delivered by Mr. Banchongwit Yingyong, Head of the University Council Office. Participants were also introduced to the preparation and submission process through the university’s electronic document management system (DOMS), ensuring efficiency, transparency, and traceability in administrative procedures.

In the afternoon, the workshop continued with a session on the format and structural components of university regulations and announcements before moving into case studies and hands-on drafting exercises. Participants engaged in practical activities designed to simulate real-world scenarios, enabling them to apply the knowledge gained and develop tangible drafting skills.

In addition, the program incorporated both pre-test and post-test assessments to systematically measure participants’ learning outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of the training.

This workshop marks another significant step forward in Walailak University’s efforts to enhance institutional standards in regulatory drafting, ensuring clarity, accuracy, systematic processes, and alignment with good governance principles—ultimately contributing to sustainable and effective university administration.
