On February 25, 2025, the Welfare Administration and Benefits Division of the Human Resources and Organization Department, in collaboration with the Faculty of Public Health, organized a training session on “Occupational Accident Prevention” at Phattharathammaphorn Room, Walailak University Medical Center. The training was divided into two sessions, morning and afternoon, with a total of 112 registered participants.

The objective of this training was to enhance knowledge and understanding of occupational accident prevention, enabling participants to apply this knowledge to ensure safety in their work practices.

A representative from the organizing team expressed gratitude to all participants for their support, which contributed to the smooth execution of the event.

Distinguished speakers from the Faculty of Public Health shared their knowledge and experience through theoretical lectures, demonstrations, and group activities, empowering participants to effectively apply their learnings in real-world work scenarios.

This training initiative is part of the organization’s occupational safety and health policy, which emphasizes fostering a culture of safety and encouraging employee participation in accident prevention, thereby creating a safe and healthy work environment for everyone.

On February 7, 2025, the Division of Human Resources and Organization organized a training course on “Official Document Writing for Fiscal Year 2025” at the Phattaradharmaporn Conference Room, Walailak University Hospital. The training aimed to enhance the official document writing skills of all staff members.

The training aimed to provide staff with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and methods of writing official documents, including the appropriate use of language to ensure effective and efficient internal and external communication.

Assistant Professor Dr. Thaddaw Rakmak, Head of the Thai Language Program, Faculty of Arts, Walailak University, served as the keynote speaker. Over 80 participants attended the training, which covered topics such as:

  • Understanding different types of official documents, including internal and external memos and stamped documents.
  • Basic official document writing for beginners.
  • Techniques for writing concise and engaging official documents.
  • Appropriate word choice and phrasing.
  • Correct formatting of official documents.

This training demonstrated Walailak University’s commitment to developing its staff by providing them with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively and professionally.

On January 23, 2025, Walailak University’s Division of Human Resources and Organization, in collaboration with the Office of the Director and Secretariat, held a Performance Commitment Signing Ceremony at the Phattaradharmarom Meeting Room, 9th Floor, Walailak University Hospital. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking executives, deans, directors, and heads of departments to demonstrate their commitment to driving the university toward its established goals.

The primary objective of the ceremony was to ensure that all operational activities for the 2025 fiscal year align with the university’s established targets and indicators. High-level administrators signed performance commitments, affirming their responsibility for achieving departmental objectives and ensuring that all missions are accomplished according to plan.

This signing ceremony signifies the dedication and commitment of all staff members to drive the university towards its vision and mission. On January 21-22, 2025, the Division of Human Resources and Organization  Walailak University held an orientation program for new staff members of the fiscal year 2025. The event took place at the Hua Taphan Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Walailak University Hospital. The program aimed to welcome new members to the Walailak family and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the university’s culture, goals, and strategic direction.

The event was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, who delivered a keynote speech on “Results-Based Management: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Innovation Development.” The speech provided new staff members with inspiration and a fresh perspective on their roles in driving the university forward.

A variety of activities were organized throughout the orientation, including ice-breaking sessions to foster camaraderie among new staff, group discussions, and workshops on various topics such as research support systems, career development, and university regulations. Walailak University conducted a workshop titled “Generative AI for New Lecturers: Revolutionizing Teaching and Research with ChatGPT” on December 11, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM at Hua Taphan Conference Room, Walailak University Medical Center. The event aimed to equip new lecturers with knowledge and skills to utilize Generative AI in teaching and research. Asst.Prof.Dr. Nichnan Kittiphattanabawon was the guest speaker in this event.

With the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly Generative AI, which excels at creating new content, Walailak University recognized the potential to enhance teaching and research methods. The workshop emphasized integrating Generative AI with lecturers’ academic expertise to drive innovation.

The primary tool for the training was ChatGPT, a highly capable language AI model. Participating lecturers explored practical applications of ChatGPT in teaching and research through examples and hands-on exercises, allowing them to develop use cases tailored to their specific needs.

Key workshop topics included:

  • Designing lesson plans
  • Writing research articles
  • Developing active learning activities for classrooms

The program also addressed ethical considerations and appropriate usage guidelines for Generative AI. The goal was to empower lecturers to use these technologies effectively, fostering innovation and advancing teaching and research capabilities.

HR Team Holds a Meeting to Gather Feedback on Improving Performance Evaluation Criteria.

The Human Resources and Organizational Department (HRO) recently held a meeting with the directors of 27 centers, institutes, and departments to discuss and gather feedback on the performance evaluation system.

Associate Professor Dr. Warit Jawjit, the Vice President, led the discussion. The executives were divided into five groups based on the organization’s core missions to brainstorm and present ideas on four key topics:

  • Gathering Feedback: Executives were given the opportunity to provide their opinions on past performance scores at both the individual and departmental levels.

  • Suggestions for Improving Criteria: Participants collaborated to review and suggest ways to improve the evaluation criteria to cover quantity, quality, and timeliness.

  • Evaluation Guidelines Aligned with the President’s Policy: The groups exchanged views on how to best integrate the President’s policy into the evaluation process for maximum effectiveness.

  • Criteria for Scores of 90 and Above: Participants worked together to establish clear guidelines for assigning high scores (90 and above) to ensure a fair and consistent standard.

The HRO would like to extend its gratitude to Associate Professor Dr. Warit Jawjit, the Vice President, and all the executives for their time and valuable suggestions. Their input will be used to develop a more effective and equitable performance evaluation system.

The Human Resources and Organizational Department (HRO) recently organized a “Draw Your Favorite Animal” contest to promote good relationships and create a relaxed atmosphere for its personnel.

The drawing contest provided an opportunity for everyone to express their creativity and share their love for their favorite pets or animals. Participants were free to use any techniques and materials they preferred.

The activity drew a large number of participants who submitted beautiful works in various styles. The event became a space for each individual to fully express their abilities and unique identity.

The HRO would like to thank everyone who participated and created such excellent works. This activity not only brought joy but also helped strengthen internal relationships within the organization.

Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, October 20, 2024 – In a heartwarming ceremony filled with gratitude, Walailak University’s Human Resources Division hosted a retirement appreciation event for its dedicated staff who retired in fiscal year 2024. Held at the Huatapan Room in the university’s medical center, the event was a testament to the university’s appreciation for the invaluable contributions of its retiring employees.

On the afternoon of October 10, 2024, the Human Resources Division, in collaboration with the Digital Technology Center and the Institute for Research and Innovation Excellence at Walailak University, organized a workshop to provide training and enhance the skills of academic staff in using the HRMS performance evaluation system. The workshop was held both in-person at the Huatapan Meeting Room, Walailak University Medical Center, and online via Zoom Cloud Meeting and Facebook Livestream on the HROWU fan page.

Associate Professor Dr. Warit Jawjitt, Vice President, along with the Human Resources team, Assistant Professor Dr. Thimaporn Petchkaew, Acting Director of the Digital Technology Center and her team, and Mr. Thitikorn Thong-iad, General Administrative Officer from the Institute for Research and Innovation Excellence, graced the occasion with their presence and provided valuable guidance. The primary objective of the workshop was to ensure that all staff members have a thorough understanding and can effectively utilize the HRMS system for the annual performance evaluation in the fiscal year 2024.

During the workshop, participants received detailed presentations and demonstrations on how to use the HRMS system. The programming team from the Digital Technology Center explained the various steps involved, from logging in and entering performance data to reviewing and submitting research outputs through the WU-RSS system. Additionally, participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas.

This workshop marks a significant step forward in enhancing the efficiency and transparency of the university’s performance evaluation process for academic staff. By encouraging all academic staff members to participate in self-assessment, the university aims to promote continuous personal and organizational development.
