HR as Change Agent: Translating Best Practices from Industry Leaders to Develop Professional Supervisors

On August 10, 2026, the Division of Human Resources and Organization (HRO) at Walailak University held an internal meeting under the theme “HR as Change Agent.” The primary agenda focused on presenting and exchanging strategic insights gained from study visits to leading organizations in Thailand—including SCG, the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), and Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited—to elevate the university’s human resource and organizational development practices.

The study visits were designed to explore best practices in talent management, organizational agility, and corporate culture from industry benchmarks. HRO staff presented these takeaways to assess how best to adapt modern management models to Walailak University’s specific operational context.

A central highlight of the session was the presentation on “Professional Supervisor: From Managing Tasks to Driving Results.” This initiative aims to shift the supervisor’s role from routine task oversight and control toward becoming an empowered Change Leader. Core elements of this approach include:

  • People-Centric Leadership: Aligning individual staff aspirations with organizational goals through effective team building, clear communication, and continuous talent development.

  • Value-Driven Results: Balancing successful project execution with high-performing team dynamics and individual staff growth.

  • Proactive Organizational Transformation: Positioning HR as an active catalyst that introduces external knowledge to modernize workflows, foster a growth culture, and support institutional goals.

Through the operational framework of “Learn – Share – Apply – Deliver Results,” HRO continues to reinforce its role as a proactive HR Change Agent, empowering professional supervisors and driving meaningful organizational progress across Walailak University.
