Walailak University Steps into 34th Year with Grand Foundation Day Celebration, Driving Toward Future of Education

On March 27, 2025, at 08:30 AM, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, together with Mr. Teerachai Chemnasiri, Chairman of the University Council, presided over a merit-making ceremony offering dry food alms to 34 Buddhist monks on the occasion of Walailak University’s 34th Foundation Day anniversary.

The event featured a Buddhist memorial merit-making service (Thaksinanupratan) dedicated to Professor Dr. Wichit Srisa-an, a major benefactor of the university, as well as deceased faculty members, staff, and students. In addition, Islamic Du’a prayers and Christian blessings were offered to invoke good fortune for the administration, staff, and students—reflecting the religious diversity and unity of the university community.

On this occasion, Mr. Suwat Chansuk, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, alongside heads of government offices from Tha Sala District and Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, executive members, staff, and a large number of students attended the ceremony at the Thaiburi Building, Walailak University.

Following the religious ceremonies, a royal decoration conferment ceremony was held before the portrait of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn for the year 2025. The program also included presenting honorary gold plaques to staff with 25 years of continuous service, souvenirs for staff serving 30 years or more, and outstanding alumni awards to honor and boost the morale of personnel and alumni.
